Barack Obama the LIAR
You remember our candidate of HOPE and CHANGE – the guy that said he would kick lobbyists out of government. You remember all the promises about how it was going to be different once we elect Barack Obama.
Well we did elect Obama and nothing has changed and in many ways it has gotten worse. One of the biggest issues for me with anyone is honesty. I respect many people that disagree with me and even those I would call right-wing nut-jobs for their total honesty. They at least don’t LIE.
I will certainly oppose them, denounce them and call BS on their positions, but if they don’t tell lies I will respect them.
Obama has done very little of what he promised during the election process. In fact he is now doing exactly the opposite in many cases.
He denounced the secret spying on Americans, GITMO and support for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is okay with all this now and in fact has added 40,000 additional America troops in Afghanistan.
He denounced the power and control of lobbyists in the US government and yet he now has appointed many to critical posts inside the government.
He just announced the recess appointment (it means no senate hearing or conformation of the nominee) of Islam A. Siddiqui to the position of Chief Agricultural Negotiator, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Siddiqui is a pesticide lobbyist and Vice President for Science and
Regulatory Affairs at CropLife America, an agribusiness lobbying group that
represents Monsanto.
What Siddiqui stands for?

Why? Why would Obama do this? Money! Money and more money! He like all good politicians knows that the big corporations can now give unlimited funds to politicians.
Obama is not only a liar he is violating his commitment to Jesus Christ. He knows this guy is bad news and yet has put him in a position to hurt millions of God’s children.

I must be one of the right-wing nut jobs you referenced, but I completely agree with your facts here. I too place a high premium on honesty. I hate to be lied to. I am just sorry for my nation, as it is now more divided than it has EVER been during my lifetime. I did enjoy your article here.

The history of progressives in congress will open your eyes to what is happening in today's society.

The problem I have is I can't identify with any of the people competing to be our leaders. I don't think any of them really represents the best interests of all Americans.
Further, while I believe in the separation of church and state I think we must reflect Christian values in our public policy - Second commandment & Golden Rule

I am not sure what your comment means. I hate labels and tried to show that in some of my hubs. I can argue that Obama is not a liberal or a progressive. He is in the hands of big money just as Bush was.
If you mean should a rich country with incredible wealth help the poor, sick and children - my answer is yes, that should be a part of our public policy, because it is a part of our values. Preamble – “promote the general welfare” and JC the Second Commandment.
Should we make war on third world countries and occupy them for decades - my answer is no.
Does that make me a “progressive” – I’m not sure.

Try to understand the difference between a LIBERAL and a CONSERVATIVE first when it comes to being charitable to our fellow man. A PROGRESSIVE can be either one of the two mentioned above.
An example: both the LIBERAL and the CONSERVATIVE wants to help the poor. The LIBERAL will help the poor with someone else's money. The CONSERVATIVE will help the poor ( choice of who he will help )with his own money.
Now, comes the PROGRESSIVE who will help the poor by (force or taxes )taking money from whomever has money and gives the money to whomever he (his decision )selectively decides.
So, who is president Obama ? Is he a LIBERAL? Is he a CONSERVATIVE? Is he a PROGRESSIVE? Is he a combination of all of the above? Open to all hubbers and your thoughts on the above.
Just some thoughts of charity are '' charity begins at home '',''it is better to give than to receive '',''the more you give, the more you get'','' money is the root of all evil, surely you don't want to be evil'','' your reward for being good is in heaven?'' and remember '' the truth will set you free ''.

I am still confused, based on your definition of progressive, conservatives are progressives because they take our money through taxes for war, to give to allies Israel ($3 billion per year), Egypt ($2 billion per year) and others including many dictators.
So if the definition of progressive is a politician that forces us to pay taxes for things we don’t want to support –conservatives = progressives.
In fact for those who want lower taxes we should look at the military. Military spending now takes 50% of all federal income taxes we pay. The US military spends more than all other countries in the world combined.
Deficit spending is just like taxes except we have to pay interest on the money we borrow. So borrowing to pay for government is worse than increasing taxes.
I don’t think we can effectively label people and make progress. Yes the Republicans under Bush voted to increasing the federal deficit by over $3 trillion, the most in US history under one president, but are they really progressive?
I don’ think any of those mentioned, conservatives, liberals and/or progressives tell the truth when it comes to taxes – they all lie.
The Republicans are always going to balance the budget, but every time they are in power the deficit goes up, Reagan, Nixon, Bush one and two. No Republican in modern history has balanced one federal budget – liars all.

LET'S NOT FORGET president CLINTON balanced the budget when the republicans took over congress in 1994 and finished with a PROJECTED SURPLUS.
Remember that congress has to approve the budget, the president is the last guy in the chain.
All we ever hear from the Dem's is that Clinton took alllll the credit.

I want a balanced budget. I will probably never see one from either party, but the Bush/Republicans ran up a $3 trillion dollar federal deficit - most in US history.
They all lie - the REPUBLICANS are the worst.
The Tea Baggers are just Republicans calling themselves by a different name.
