Tea Party SHARON ANGLE Winning in Nevada

“The times they are a changing”, Bobby meant it in a different way, but it turns out the Tea Baggers are going to WIN in Nevada.

Sharon Angle is really the personification of the Tea Party movement.  She is for everything they are for and she is ahead of the senior ranking Democrat in the US Senate – Harry Reid.

Her background is revealing.  She was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon and moved to Reno where she now lives.  She has never lived in a large or medium sized city or around minorities.  She has a limited view of the outside world and no experience with multi-cultures.

What she stands for:

1.    Elimination of the US Department of Education – against federal funding for poor public schools

2.    Phasing out Social Security and Medicare and turning them over to for profit private companies – Goldman Sachs, etc

3.    Elimination of the IRS and all income taxes – she doesn’t say how she will raise money to run the government and support military spending of $1 trillion per year

4.    US to pull out of the United Nations and ask them to move their headquarter out of America – no cooperation with over countries to try to reduce the possibility of war or to help poor countries where 25,000 starve to death every day

5.    Energy policy allow drilling in all off-shore location and in Alaska (Arctic National Wild Life Reserve) – increase the number of coal fired power plants – she doesn’t believe in global warming

6.    Against gay marriage and any rights for gay partners

7.    Against abortion for any reason including rape and incest

8.    Against medical marijuana laws allowing the use of marijuana for sick people

9.    Against fluoride in public water

10. Against majority rule – for requiring a 66.66% vote to raise taxes

11. Supports local well armed militias and the right to own almost any kind of weapon

12. She would like to ban the use of alcohol

13. Against the 1964 Civil Rights Act that forces business offering service to the public to serve minorities

Angle is a strong Southern Baptist and has the support of her church and Jesus Christ, who really doesn’t care about the less fortunate either it turns out, in some churches anyway.  If and when she eliminated Social Security 40 million older Americans will lose their ability to pay rent and eat.  That is fine with her.  Once Medicare is gone 48 million older Americans will lose their healthcare. 

Angle is currently leading Harry Reid by 50% to 37% according to the Mason-Dixon Poll.  She has made statements like, “The people have Second Amendment Rights when democracy fails.”  Some have said this means armed insurrection if she doesn’t win, but who knows what it means.

She is in the mold of Sara Palin.  They are people who live in rural areas and have never seen how 80% of America lives and they have no knowledge of the realities of huge cities and social realities most Americans face each day. 

She is the face of the NEW REPUBLICAN right-wing nut-jobs.  Like Rand Paul and the other right-wingers, she wants to repeal progress and deny reality.  You can do this when you live in a small backwater with few or no minorities and no contact with the outside world.

For most Americans she seems a bit out of touch and a little nutty.  If she becomes the majority America will have gone backwards and become a much less Christian place for everyone, with no social safety net for the poor, the old and our children.
