Tell Dianne Feinstein: Hands off Social Security and Medicare.

Senator Feinstein wants to cut both Social Security payments and Medicare payments to protect the rich from a tax increase. This is an end run around democracy. Feinstein wants an appointed commission to make these cuts and force them through the congress with no debate, no changes and no filibuster.

10 million older Americans rely totally on Social Security payments of $12,000 per year to live and Feinstein wants to cut their payments. Most of these old people have to eat cat food and turn down their heat in the winter so Bill Gates and Warren Buffett can pay just a 17% income tax rate.

Bush gave tens of billions in tax cuts to the richest 1% and now it is time from them to start paying some of that back. We shouldn’t try to balance the budget on the backs of the old, sick and suffering while the richest 1% laugh all the way to the bank.

Feinstein one of the richest members of congress, likes the Bush tax cuts that handed her hundreds of thousands in tax cuts. She wants to keep them for herself and her rich friends. She is working with conservative Democrats and Republicans to slash billions in payments from 40 million old people in order to protect the tax cuts for herself; Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, George Bush, John McCain, Dick Chaney and other billionaires and multi-millionaires.

Please email your senator and tell them to stop FEINSTEIN from cutting the benefits to our older people.

Please send this email to your friends and ask them to HELP.

The younger people 9 months ago

I'm a younger member of the community and I don't understand why my taxes from each paycheck go to social security when it won't be there for me. I can save up just like the seniors have and should have. Find a part time job for most of those who can work, which is more than half. I don't even have my own health insurance for 3 years now but I'm paying for everyone's grandparents. Fair? I think not..

typ,

SS will be there for you to collect. It is in the black for the next 25 years if we do nothing. If we tax all wages and make a few minor adjustments, it will be in the black for over 100 years.

The CEO who has a salary of $50 million pays the SS tax on just the first $107,000 in wages about one days work. We must tax all wages, not give the richest an entitlement to avoid SS tax on most of their wages.

As for people in there 70s and 80s going back to work; it can't happen. Most people that age can't work.

Your only hope is to fight for both SS and Medicare for all workers. We must ask the rich and greedy to pay their share.
