Why does America have a HUGE trade DEFICIT with China?

Years ago my econ professor said that any country can beat the import export game if they can set the rules.  For FREE trade to work all countries must to have fair import/export rules that allow completion across borders. 

This has never been the case with Communist China. They have fixed the game.  America can’t win if we can’t compete.  China has the following rules in place.

1.   No one can bring critical products into China; China demands these products be made in China keeping American made products OUT

2.   The Chinese currency is kept under valued meaning everything made in China is cheaper than it should be, creating a major price advantage against products made outside China

3.   The Chinese government subsidizes critical products where they can’t complete even with the above advantages so they can steel market share in the outside world

4.   The Chinese keep labor rates low – under $1/hour and force workers to work 70 hours per week

5.   The Chinese refuse to enforce environmental rules allowing rampant pollution of air and water, making it much cheaper to manufacturer

6.   The Chinese refuse to allow any product safety enforcement reducing the cost to manufacturer

All the actions above are against the international rules set out by the WTO.  They are also against the US trade rules.

So why do we allow this to happen when it provides a major disadvantage and cheats American made products?

The top 1,000 US based multi-national companies want it this way and they have the support of the Republicans.  The list is long of those who give millions to keep the system fixed in favor of Communist China and their plants in China.  IBM, Microsoft, Apple, GE, Ford, Wal-Mart, GM, HP, Westinghouse, and all the products companies that make electronics, appliances, clothes, shoes, you name it.  Soon China will be offering automobiles in the US while keeping huge tariffs on all autos imported into China.  These Chinese auto manufacturers are being subsidized by the Communist government and the prices will undermine every major brand now completing in the US. 

In fact Bill Gates has supported allowing the Chinese to cheat so he can take advantage of manufacturing in China and improve his profits.

The Chinese economy is growing at about 8% each year by cheating America and the world.  The US is suffering massive unemployment because Americans companies have moved US jobs to China.   

Just as with the fraud on Wall Street the Republicans LOVE a fixed game if they can get in on the profits. 

The game is fixed and the American people are the losers.  If it continues soon we will be the third world country, a country that makes noting and works at Wal-Mart.

None of this is helping the average Chinese.  They have no freedom of speech, press or religion and they are kept poor so the Communist government can get richer and more oppressive.

The US should enact a new 50% tariff on all products coming from China until they implement a free democratic government that provides their citizens with freedoms (speech, press and religion) we say we believe in and until they stop fixing the game and agree to play by the rules.

This will be difficult because 99% of all US CEOs love the fixed system in China – it improves their profits.

America’s actions are illegal, unethical and un-Christian, but they are supported by CEOs and Republicans.
