Jesus and the Republicans

Would Jesus VOTE for your US Senator?

I am always amazed at how “so called Christians” vote. Over 80% of all Americans claim to be Christians and yet we have a US Senate that voted to help the rich and greedy and punish the poor and needy.

Republicans are the ones who love to tell us how much they love JC. Then they vote to give the 400 American billionaires (net worth of $1.5 trillion) hundreds of billions in tax cuts, while cutting support for the 20 million American children living in poverty.

This hypocrisy is everywhere, but it is widespread in the US Congress where the Tea Party is against increasing taxes on the richest Americans. Warren Buffett was so ashamed at how little he paid in taxes he asked that his tax rate be increased. The Republicans said, hell NO! This while over 10 million American children have no healthcare and hundreds of thousands of kids are sick today, and can’t see a doctor in the richest country in the world.

Who are some of these US Senators and Congressmen?

US Senators JC wouldn’t vote for:

1. Mitch McConnell

2. Jeff Sessions

3. Lindsey Graham

4. Jim DeMint

5. Okay all the Republicans in the US Senate

US Congressmen JC wouldn’t vote for:

1. John Boehner

2. Paul Ryan

3. Eric Canter

4. Michelle Bachmann

5. Okay all the Republicans in the US House

What did JC demand of all Christians?

Love your neighbor, as you love yourself.

If you have more than enough food, housing, clothes, healthcare and you have millions in the bank; you MUST help your neighbor, if they don’t have enough.

Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.

Consider the following. GE had just fired you and sent your job to Communist China. HP just fired your wife and sent her job to India. Your unemployment insurance has run out. You have three children who need to eat. Should your Christian US Senator vote to extend your unemployment insurance? The Republicans refused to do this for the least among us.

To the rich man, sell whatever you have and give it to the poor.

Avoid all forms of greed. Greed is having more than you need.

The love of money is the root of ALL EVIL.

Can we truthfully say any of the Republicans are following the instructions of JC?

The fact is JC is committed to having Christians share with the less fortunate. Republicans refuse to do this.

As you treat the least among you, so you treat me (JC) also.

The Republicans politicians have deserted both the least among us and JC. They told JC the same thing Dick Chaney told Pat Leahy on the floor of the senate, “Go fxxx yourself.”

If you say I am a Christian and vote for one of these hypocrites, how will you answer Christ when he sits in judgment on you?

If you love me follow my commandments.

It is time we stopped being selfish and greedy and begin to help our neighbors. It is time we ask the richest people to pay their share. The top 10% of Americans have a personal net worth of over $40 trillion. They need to give up some of this to help the “least among us.”

What say you? Am I correct?

jc, I agree completely and yet the evil runs on both sides of the aisle. On the otherside you have all the legitimizing of evils such as abortion. Greed is occupying the hearts of both sides. I don't think Christ would vote at all. I believe He would just go on healing and teaching and let the worldly play their vain little games. And politics is the biggest version of Candyland ever created. Peace

Very intriguing topic.

I'm surprised you haven't garnered more reaction from conservatives.

Voted up. Lets see if we can get a dialogue going.

AMW,

You are correct. No one has a monopoly on evil, but the conservatives have a huge lead in this race. They tell the least among us to go to hell, while giving the richest tens of billions in tax breaks.

Thanks for reading and for your comments…

TT,

The conservatives have no response because they can't quote one thing JC said that supports their greed, hate and perversion.

Are you kidding? I live in Florida. We don't even have any state legislators Jesus would vote for.

Hi, excellent post, personally I'm an atheist but have read the bible several times and a lot of Christian apologetics. What you've pointed out here seems absolutely obvious to anyone who takes time to think about it. There is definitely an active process of denial going on with Republican voters.

I'm interested in if you have any opinion on what may be the driving force behind this bizarre behaviour?
