Jesus demands ALL Christians vote to TAX the RICH
It is clear that Jesus is against wealth and obscene wealth is a ticket to HELL. Yet Americans worship wealth and those who are wealthy.
Our Icons include Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, the number one and two in American net worth. Gates is worth about $50 billion and Buffett is worth about $40 billion.
Each individually is worth more than 80 of the 196 countries in the world with millions of people. Each gets richer each day, while many countries get poorer.
What did Jesus demand from Boll Gates and Warren Buffett along with the other obscenely wealthy 300,000 Americans with a net personal wealth over $100 million?
The protectors of the rich and greedy, the GOP, will not raise taxes on them and in fact wants to lower their taxes.
Matthew 22:37-40
39"The second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
Do the wealthy love their neighbors? No! They love money and wealth and tell their neighbors without housing, food and medical care the same thing Dick Chaney told Pat Leahy on the floor of the senate - “Go F--- yourself.” Yes these are his words, not mine. This is exactly what Dick Chaney told his fellow Christian.
If they did love their neighbors these billionaires couldn’t sit with millions or in the case of 1,000 Americans, billions in net worth while 19 million American children live in poverty.
Timothy 6:8-10 (money)
8 “And having food and raiment (clothes) let us be therewith content.
9 “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
I was once told by a very rich friend that all men love money and wealth, if they didn’t they wouldn’t keep trying to get more.
Jesus tells us throughout the New Testament the same thing over and over, the rich must give up their wealth. In each case the rich man walks away.
Personal greed is the worst addiction, stronger than cocaine.
Luke 18:22
22”Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.”
These are the instructions Jesus gives to each rich man; Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and the other over 300,000 obscenely wealthy Americans who hoard their wealth while their neighbors go without food, shelter and medical care in the richest country in the world.
If the rich will not follow the instructions of Jesus we should help them become better Christians and better people. We should raise their taxes to help the less fortunate.
Luke 16:15
15”And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men (money and possessions) is detestable in the sight of God.”
Luke 16:13
MONEY & GOD
13" No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other You cannot serve God and wealth."
34"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
They who are rich have made their choice – money over God and the word of God as given by his Son Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 6:17
17 “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they may not be highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all thing to enjoy”
I think this means we need to tax these selfish people and help the poor?
James 5:1-4
1“Go to now rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your richest are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
3 Your gold and silver are cankered; and the rust on them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.”
Jesus instructs us to tax the rich and give to the poor and yet America taxes the wealthy at tax rates so low this can’t be done. The average federal income tax rate the top 1% paid was less than the tax rate paid by a fireman married to a nurse in New York City. The richest 1% paid on average rate of 17% while the firemen married to the nurse paid 34%.
1 Timothy 6:17
17“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.”
Corinthians 12:25
25“That there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And weather one member suffer, all members suffer with it; or one member be honuored, all members rejoice with it.”
Galatians 6:2 “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Colossians 3:14 “And above all these things put on charity , which is the bond of perfectness.”
Are Bill Gates and Warren Buffett bearing the burden of the 19 million American children living in poverty? No! They tell these poor American children the same exact thing Chaney told Leahy. “Go f--- yourself.”
Americans must reform our tax system.
Solutions:
· Tax each dollar of income over $150,000 per year at 50%
· Limit capital gains taxes treatment (15%) to a lifetime of $5 million, all other capital gains income will be taxed at income tax rates
· Tax corporate gross revenue at 2% - this would provide over $1 trillion
· Provide universal healthcare

Wait, do you know what Bill Gates has recently devoted his life to? He AND Warren Buffet have pledged nearly all of their fortunes to charity. Sure, the rich can be greedy, but you should check out this news article from last year if you think they always are.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-
Warren Buffet has also contributed most of his wealth to charity. Jesus would direct the rich to contribute their own money; he wouldn't command governments to take it from them.
Even though the net worth of some men is huge, the government taking their money to throw at problems will not necessarily solve them, a great example were Prohibition, certain wars or "police actions" that the government has put into place, and housing projects that have exacerbated poverty. Private charity has proven more effective since individual charities have to compete for donations and are often very dedicated to their goals.
Your title and hub simply don't hold water scripturally. Jesus never encouraged us to coerce or force people into anything. He never did that in his own ministry. He simply told the truth and let people do what they chose. It's called free will. Bill Gates and Buffett will answer to God like the rest of us.
What libs don't understand is that if you punish productivity with higher taxes, the big money guys take their ball and play elsewhere. This ends up hurting everyone as it directly affects joblessness. Jesus' words were not meant to be forced on those who are not following him! You need to do some reading about the meaning of the word 'charge' in 1 Timothy 6:17. If you think it means higher taxes, I'm truly amazed at how you've let your own biases and desires affect your interpretation of scripture.
Bottom line: If you've earned it by building a better mousetrap than everyone else, you should get to do whatever you want with the money. Everyone should pay taxes, but using them as a punitive measure for the rich is counter-productive to the very people you want to help. I know that you are sincere, but libs can't seem to see the end results of their actions.

Many people misunderstand some of Jesus' teachings. I remember one meeting of an UCC Bible study group, where we discussed what Jesus told different men of wealth what they needed to do to get closer to God. He told one man to give away everything he owned, he told another to give away a portion of what he owned, etc. As described in the New Testiment, Jesus' answer for each individual on what they needed to do to grow closer to God and therefore to be accepted by God differed. At time the message differed greatly from one person to the next. Even when on the surface, two individuals may appear to be the same. For example all wealthy individuals.
I well educated man in the group, whose father and grand father were both Christian ministers stated that "Jesus was not very consistent with his message". This man missed the message in the text. Jesus did not believe that being rich was a sin and he did not believe that in order to grow close to God that rich men had no choice but to give away everything that they owned.
Jesus is very consistent with his message. And his message is this. In order to grow close to God, each person must given up everything that they value more than their relationship with God. To be close to God, you must value your relationship with God over everything else in your life.
When Jesus met with people, he was clearly skilled in asking the questions necessary for him to understand what each individual valued more than they valued their relationship with God. Once he leaned what this was, he told the person that they must give away those things. Only then could they grow close to God.
Many people have been taught that "money is he root of evil"; but this is not the message taught in the Bible. The complete message is "love of money is the root of evil".
Just because you happen to believe that Bill Gates or Warren Buffet must give away everything or that Jesus taught the message of 'tax the rich' is foolish. Many of the people with whom Jesus took issue were the tax collectors. Some of the wealthiest people during Jesus' time were the tax collectors.
There is a parallel message that at least might make you understand that taking all of the money from the rich and giving it to the poor won't do what you say you want. Remember "give a man a fish and he will eat for day; teach a man to fish and he will eat for a life time".
The U.S. Federal Government' war on poverty resulted in the transfer of wealth that you seem to advocate. Billions of dollars are and have been spent fighting poverty and the result is that the number of people living in poverty in the U.S. continues to increase.
Don't feel happy for the people who have grown to become depdendent on others in order to live. You should feel sorry for these people and we all should work to help these people get out of poverty through education and hard work and much less government interference.
The basic premise is that the wealthy in the United States don't pay their share of the tax burden. I've included the url from a New York Times article (and we all know which way politically the NY Times lean). The top 1% of income earners in the United States pay more income taxes than the bottom 95% of income earners. How much more should they pay?
While I know that we will never return to live in a country tthat our founding father's envisioned, we need to move in the direction. A large portion of the taxes taken in by the FFederal government are comsumed by maintaining the thousands of government agencies. Our Constitution was wrtten with the concerns of the federal government growing too large and powerful. The 10th ammendment states clearly that unless the authority is explicitely given to the federal government; the federal government does not have that authority; rather it belongs to the States and the citizens. To summarize, the people who are closest to the problems we face are better able to resolve those problems.
If only the American People had the will power to force the people in Washington to own up to their oath to defend and uphold the Constitution.
Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity and does not contradict God the Father. In Exodus, God said that the rich and the poor were to be taxed equal proportions. 'You shall not tax the rich more, nor the poor less'. Exodus 30:15. Nowhere does the Bible say that the civil government is supposed to be involved in health, education, or welfare. These roles are for the other two main institutions in society; the family and the church. Charities are but extensions of both. The poor also had requirements to receiving help, as they couldn't be slothful and irresponsible. The only Biblical and Constitutional role of the civil government is defense of life and property (Romans 13:1-4).
You don't know how much the rich give. I'm glad there is the rich they create business and jobs. They are the ones that know what to do with wealth that's why they have it. If you take from those that know what to do with it and give it to those that do know what to do with it what are you going to do about business growth and new jobs.
Jesus told the rich to give, He didn't tell the people or government to take it. He also said the love of money was
evil, not the money was evil. Having is not evil I'm glad there is the rich, because that means I can also with Gods help and blessings.
The rich are getting rich, but so are the poor. The fallacy here is that there is a single pie of wealth and that if one person is rich, he could only have taken that from someone else. However, rich people create new pies. By designing Windows, Bill Gates improved efficiency greatly. Before it might take far longer to produce a large document than it did with his word processor. Therefore, he made things easier and improved people's lives.
Also, constraining how much money the rich are allowed to make will only remove their incentive to create more wealth. Once they reach their maximum level, they'll just stop. No more wealth will be created. It's not as though once they get to that level they will then work for nothing.
Thirdly, giving should be voluntary, not coerced. Plus, the government is the biggest waster of money. Every penny Bill Gates received, he had to convince people to give it to him. It was a win-win. When someone confiscates one person's money and gives it to someone else, then there are bound to be unhappy people and inefficiencies.
What has happened to our country when one class attacks another for prosperity? Shame should be felt by the poor for not working to achieve. Not the other way around.
Interesting reading thejcrevelator2! I like your Jesus, he sounds a lot more like the guy I read about in the Good Book, not the one invented by the far right.
Also tired of hearing the rich produced their wealth from sheer air and owe no one anything. I wonder what would happen if the workers of the world all took a week off. Oh wait… they can't because the rich make sure the majority don't make enough to miss a week’s work without their children going hungry.
That is why the rich produce products in the third world. Hassle free production and slave eeerrrrr cheap labor. (They don’t produce in America because it cuts into their profit line, and that is the only reason.) More Profit for them!!! And then to add the crowning touch, we sympathize with the poor dears. Life is so rough on your average Billionaire with all these greedy Socialist types demanding they give a portion back to those who helped make them rich and at the same time cover those old people, children and the less fortunate because it is the humane thing to do.
Anyways thanks for letting me stop by and rant because reading your Hub today is the only thing that has kept me from puking in my trash can when I read the drivel that some of these sanctimonious apologists for the rich post on the web.
Keep the faith!
God has given us freewill, and that means free choice to give to charity or not. We should not be jealous and covert other people's money.

I agree. The GOP protects the rich. The ones who really need protection are the poor but they have no money with which to bribe politicians.
